Hey,

You’ve stumbled on my blog where I talk body confidence, self acceptance, personal style, travel and everything else in between!

I definitely, don’t think my words are any more important than the next, but I hope you find something here that will inspire you.

Back in L.A.

This isn’t the first time I’ve been here but it’s definitely different.

I moved to Riverside, CA in January of 2015 for a fresh new start. I had lived in Texas my entire life and attended college in Dallas, so when I graduated, I knew I wanted to find my first big girl job in Los Angeles. So, with my little sister, who was only junior in high school at the time, we packed up my mom’s old Hyundai with all of our stuff and drove 21 hours to Los Angeles. Unfortunately, when I got there, work did not come as easily as I had dreamed. Duh. I sent over 200 job applications with little to know response. Over the course of 8 months I sat on my butt writing and rewriting my resume all while eating my way through boxes of Hot Pockets and binging shows on Netflix.

This is me in 2015 in West Hollywood. I had recently cut off all of my hair and had gained nearly 35 lbs.

When it got too hard for me, I finally moved back home and I was undoubtedly depressed. I rarely got out of bed and didn’t want to see my friends. I thought I was a failure and that it was absolutely hopeless. I was angry at myself and angry at anyone who would try to help. It wasn’t until I landed my big job, early the following year, that I finally changed. Now, I get to travel and do the things I love as a career. When I flew to LA this time around, it was for work and it was amazing! I met new people and friends, and got to enjoy the city as I’ve always believed I would have.
